Global K-pop icon G-Dragon has once again demonstrated his commitment to social causes by donating ₩880 million (approx. $636,000 USD) to support youth alcohol addiction treatment. The donation was made through the JUSPEACE Foundation, where G-Dragon serves as honorary chairman.
The announcement coincided with the launch event for his third signature highball, held on June 13 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, as part of the Peaceminusone Premium Highball series under the title “The Signal.”
A Message Beyond Art: “Imperfection Is Okay”
The newly unveiled highball, featuring artwork hand-drawn by G-Dragon, completes a trilogy following the previously released Black Highball (April 9) and Red Highball (May 27). The three beverages are inspired by the thematic elements of Peace, Emotion, and Coexistence, addressing metaphorical “deficiencies on Earth” and delivering a narrative from an imagined galaxy.
In this third installment, G-Dragon portrays imperfect daisies in varying colors, textures, and styles, expressing the message: “It’s okay to be imperfect as we are.” His goal is to convey a transcendental sense of solidarity, acknowledging that all individuals carry their own imperfections and live in shared human experience.
The donation amount ₩880 million symbolically incorporates the number 8, which is often associated with infinity (∞). This reflects G-Dragon’s vision for an ongoing cultural and charitable movement born from the Peaceminusone highball series.
According to his statement, the artist hopes this initiative will inspire a sustainable culture of giving, where “joyful experiences never before seen on Earth can bloom in more places,” regardless of the scale of participation.
